Donate to the Lawton Chiles Silent Auction
The renowned Lawton Chiles Silent Auction is a fun way to support our Alachua County Democratic candidates as well as support the operation of the Alachua County Democratic Executive Committee office. The Silent Auction of the annual Lawton Chiles Gala is one of Alachua County Democratic Executive Committee’s main venues to raise money for local Democratic candidates. By donating items to our Silent Auction, you and others can help fund a successful 2018 Democratic take-over. More Democrats than ever before are interested in running for local, state, and national offices. With your support, we can succeed!

How You Can Help
The Silent Auction takes place during the evening of the Gala Dinner and Dance on Sunday, September 24, 2017 but preparation for it takes months in advance. The Silent Auction Committee would appreciate your assistance in one of three ways:
- by donating an item
- by making a suggestion
- by joining our committee
Please use the form below to send a message and a volunteer from the committee will respond. Stay tuned to this website for posts of the items donated so you can pre-screen what you are interested in bidding on.
Don’t Know What to Donate?
Popular items at the auction have been:
- gift certificates for meals at restaurants, retail stores, or for massages
- use of a vacation home or condo, a fishing trip, or an AirBnB
- services such as preparing dinners at homes, lectures on interesting topics i.e. spiders, plants or birds
- personal items such as jewelry, art, home décor, music, antiques or collectibles
- baskets of picnic items or themed baskets
- large items such as bicycles or furniture
- consumables such as cakes and wines
- politically related items or souvenirs
- books
We request that the item is valued at $50.00 or more but we accept items valued less than that. The donation deadline for 2017 is Monday, September 18. Please send us a message via the button above and a volunteer will work with you to fill out a donation form and coordinate picking up the donation.

Are you interested in joining our wonderful group of dedicated volunteers that ask and gather items for the Silent Auction? We meet on the second Monday of May, June, July and August with additional meetings in August and September. Please let us know below of your interest in joining the committee.
